John Boy and Billy, The Big Show: Hello? Hello, are you there?

A funny thing happened on my way to The Big Show interview with John Boy and Billy. They apparently hung up on me. I love these guys and know it was nothing personal. Appraently, things happen in the control booth that neither you nor I as mere mortal, non-radio personalities could ever hope to comprehend. I think it’s a button king of thing, myself, but then there I go, gettin’ above my raisin’.

Anyhoo, The Boys, as I lovinglly call them, figured out all that hi-falitin’, tech stuff and I was – voila – on the air. The resulting interview will have you cacklin’ – that’s code for laughin’ if ya’ll ain’t from ’round here.

OK, full disclosure, my non-accented voice (if you ask me) suddenly takes on this unexplained drawl when they answer the phone.

More importantly, listen in and have a Big Ole Laugh on The Big Show with the Stars, John Boy and Billy, and yours truly. Ta-Dah!

Cold friends to the north promoting novels for Valentine’s

It was 14 degrees in Grand Falls up there in Canada, eh, when Kathy was on air Friday with Capt. Kirk Davidson at K93. We love our friends to the Cold North who tell their listeners about YourNovel.com’s great Valentine’s service: Put your honey and yourself in a romance novel.

So back to 14 degrees. Is it any wonder Kirk fell off his chair laughing when Kathy mentioned we were shivering here in North Carolina at 35 degrees? Hey, we have ice to prove it.

Kirk also taught Kathy a fun new phrase – wiggle pop. “Oooh,” she said, “sounds like something I need to put in a romance novel: ‘She turned to Fletcher and said, come here, wiggle pop.’ ”

Uh, not quite. It’s a euphemism for an alcoholic drink, which they need what with ice fishing in frigid temps. Who knew?

RALEIGH, NC (January 19, 2016) — “My husband and I met over a floppy disk, and fell in love over a Star Trek quote,” confides Apex, NC, writer Madhavi Krevat who describes herself as both a hopeless romantic and a skeptical realist. After YourNovel.com published her book “A Ren Faire to Remember ” in 2014, she added the moniker “Author.”

Known as “Madi” to some, Madhavi Krevat has penned “New York: Some Like It Hot ” as the newest release from YourNovel.com, which created the genre of personalized romance novels 24 years ago. Set in New York City, any starring couple can undertake this adventure between the pages of this new book.

“I’m a big science fiction/fantasy geek,” says Krevat. “So, I like to put a little geekiness into each book I write. I think it spices up the romance even more. There’s a little science fiction in this one, in the form of time travel.

Krevat credits her husband, Matthew, as her inspiration, always pushing her to write. “He’s the only one who truly understands exactly what my writing means to me; he knows it’s my passion. He’s my biggest fan and my most ardent supporter.” She adds, “The other person I really need to thank is Debbie West. A YourNovel.com enthusiast, Debbie kept trying to get me to submit something: And now I’ve written two novels.” When Krevat’s first novel rolled off the presses in 2013, West got one of the first copies. “And she’ll probably be the first one to buy this new one, too,” Krevat laughs.

At the beginning of 2015, company co-founders and husband-wife team J.S. Fletcher and Kathy Newbern approached Krevat to ask her to write a story proposal and an outline because of her success with her first novel.

Krevat immediately jumped on it. “That’s where this book was born. It’s changed a little since its initial conception, but it’s been a fun ride.”

Writer Hayley Matthews did a fantastic job capturing what we do here at YourNovel.com and our philosophy as the husband-wife co-founders who acted on a great idea more than two decades ago.

Here’s a little excerpt:

On The Bob and Coe Show Feb. 13, they each talked about the book they ordered to star in. Coe opted for “A Reunion to Die For” from the detective novel trilogy by Geno Vincenzo so she and her honey could be the stars as the owners of the Guy and Gal Detective Agency.
